Ketika melintas di lokasi kejadian, mencoba untuk mendahului truk tangki yang ada di depannya dari sebelah kiri. Nahas, saat hendak memotong laju truk, motornya menyenggol bagian depan truk hingga terpental.
Akibatnya,  pun
terseret truk tangki pengangkut minyak tersebut. Akibat kecelakaan itu,
korban mengalami luka serius di bagian kepala dan tewas di tempat
kejadian.
Seman tara sang pengemudi truk, langsung melarikan diri.
Kasat Lantas Polresta Palembang Kompol Harris Batara mengatakan, saat ini jenazah korban sudah dievakuasi ke Instalasi Pemulasaraan Jenazah RSMH Palembang.
"Informasi saat ini, korban diduga berusaha mendahului truk tangki. Saat hendak memotong truk tersebut, korban terserempet lalu jatuh dan terseret truk," ungkap Harris.
Haris menambahkan, saat ini piha knya sudah melakukan olah TKP dan memintai keterangan saksi.
"Untuk pengemudi truk masih dalam pengejaran, karena melarikan diri. Kita juga mengimbau masyarakat agar lebih mawas saat berkendara," tukasnya.
