Duta Besar Republik Indonesia di Korea Selatan Umar Hadi akhirnya buka suara terkait viralnya kabar jasad tiga WNI yang bekerja di kapal ikan China dibuang ke laut.
Tak hanya itu, para ABK tersebut juga dilaporkan mendapatkan perilaku buruk seperti perbudakan.
Kisah para ABK itu mencuat setelah diangkat oleh media Korea Selatan, MBC News.
Dalam tayangan media tersebut, para ABK mengaku mendapat perlakuan buruk dan bekerja berdiri hingga 30 jam.
Mereka juga mengaku dipaksa minum air laut yang disuling, sementara para ABK asal China minum air mineral botolan.
Tiga di antara mereka meninggal dunia dan jenazahnya dilarung di laut, terekam dari kamera di dalam kapal.
Padahal dalam surat pernyataan yang diteken, kapal harus merapat ke
pelabuhan untuk menyerahkan jasad awak mereka yang meninggal dalam
kondisi utuh atau dikremasi.
Duta Besar RI untuk Korea Selatan, Umar Hadi, membenarkan kabar jasad yang dibuang ke laut itu merupakan WNI.
"Tetapi yang kami terima laporannya pada 24 April 2020, satu ABK di
kapal Long Xing dilarung ke laut lepas. Kemudian ada 15 ABK lainnya
diturunkan dari kapal lain di Pelabuhan Busan," ujar Umar Hadi dilansir dari MetroTv pada Kamis (7/5/2020).
Umar Hadi menjelaskan, kedua kapal tersebut merupakan milik perusahaan yang berlokasi di China.
"Ketika kapal ini menurunkan 15 ABK dengan laporan satu ABK dilarung di laut lepas, kemudian mereka dikarantina di Busan karena ada aturan pencegahan Covid-19," aku Umar Hadi.
"(Alasan dilarung) kita belum tahu tetapi sekarang kita sedang investigasi oleh otoritas Korea Selatan," ucap Umar Hadi.
Berkaitan dengan surat pernyataan yang diteken ABK, Umar Hadi mengaku
KBRI Seoul dan KBRI Beijing sudah berkoordinasi untuk meminta
pertanggungjawaban dari perusahaan yang mempekerjakan para WNI tersebut,
termasuk perusahaan di Indonesia yang menjadi agen perekrutan.
"Kita terus bertanya ke agen perusahaan kapal dan agen penyalur ABK," aku Umar Hadi.
Lebih lanjut, Umar Hadi menuturkan, saat 15 ABK turun di Pelabuhan Busan, mereka mengontak KBRI setempat dan meminta bantuan advokat pro bono di Korea Selatan.
"Kasus ini akan ditangani oleh lembaga investigasi di Korsel. Ketika
otoritas Korea Selatan menerima laporan, kapal yang menurunkan 15 ABK di
Busan itu bukan tempat mereka bekerja."
"Sementara kapal itu hanya dititipkan, ini memang kasus yang memprihatinkan dan situasinya tak semudah yang dipikirkan," tegas Umar Hadi.
Lebih lanjut, Umar Hadi menuturkan, mereka akan membantu pemulangan para WNI itu setelah selesai masa karantina.
