“Walaupun mereka satu keluarga tapi beda agama, tapi sungguh tak ada konflik apa pun mengenai keyakinan yang berbeda itu," cerita Abdul Wahab melalui surat elektronik, Rabu (11/5).
Bagi Wahab, potret seperti ini jelas menohok orang-orang yang selalu menyebar fitnah dan perpecahan atas nama agama. Fakta keharmonisan dan kasih sayang keluarga di Papua tersebut dapat menjadi jawaban atas sebagian orang yang menuduh perbedaan agama sebagai biang masalah atau konflik. “Dari kisah ini, seharusnya manusia belajar bahwa sudah sepatutnya seseorang menjunjung tinggi rasa kemanusiaan dan persaudaraan yang lebih mendalam dan lebih mendasar dibandingkan kepentingan apapun. Sebab rasa kemanusiaan harusnya tidak dibatasi oleh baju luar dan sekat-sekat primordial seperti agama, suku, ras, bahasa, jenis kelamin, dan sebagainya,” tuturnya.
