Kapolresta Bandung, Kombes Pol Hendra Kurniawan mengatakan empat pelaku itu berinisial T (54), MP (46), AR (38), dan AS (39). Mereka, kata Hendra, mengolah daging babi hingga menyerupai daging sapi dengan menggunakan boraks.
"Saudara T dan MP ini hanya warga ngontrak kurang lebih satu tahun, berasal dari Solo. Barangnya ini dikirim oleh temannya dari Solo ke sini dengan menggunakan mobil pick-up," ujar Hendra di Polresta Bandung, Kabupaten Bandung, Senin (11/5).
Hendra menjelaskan, T dan MP berperan sebagai bandar daging tersebut, sedangkan AR dan AS berperan sebagai bandar sekaligus pengecer.
"Saudara AR ini menjual di daerah Majalaya, lalu saudara AS menjual di daerah Baleendah," kata dia.
Hendra mengimbau agar masyarakat lebih berhati-hati atas modus penjualan daging babi yang menyerupai daging sapi di wilayah Kabupaten Bandung. Pasalnya daging tersebut dijual lebih murah daripada daging sapi biasanya.

63 Ton dalam Setahun
Awalnya, pelaku yang berinisial T dan M membeli daging babi seharga Rp45.000 per kilogram dari Solo. Kemudian diolah menyerupai daging sapi dengan menggunakan boraks, lalu dijual seharga Rp60.000 di tingkat bandar.
Menurut Hendra, ada beberapa warga yang mendatangi langsung ke rumah pelaku. Kemudian dari tingkat bandar, di bagi lagi ke tingkat pengecer kepada AR dan AS. Mereka, kata dia, menjual harga Rp85.000 sampai Rp90.000 per kilogram ke pasar dan masyarakat
Sejauh ini, kata Hendra, mereka sudah melakukan aksinya selama kurang lebih satu tahun. Selama aksi itu, menurut Hendra sudah ada sebanyak 63 ton daging babi menyerupai daging sapi yang beredar di masyarakat.
"Jadi secara fisik, daging babi ini lebih pucat, tapi kalau daging sapi ini lebih merah, jadi proses (boraks) daging babi ini menjadi lebih mirip, lebih merah seperti daging sapi," kata dia.
Dari kasus tersebut, polisi telah mengamankan total 600 kilogram daging babi. Sebanyak 500 kilogram di antaranya yang diamankan dari freezer dan 100 kilogram sisanya diamankan dari para pengecer.
Para pelaku dijerat dengan Pasal 91 A jo Pasal 58 Ayat 6 UU Nomor 41 Tahun 2014 tentang peternakan dan kesehatan hewan, serta Pasal 62 Ayat 1 jo Pasal 8 Ayat 1 UU Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang perlindungan konsumen dengan ancaman hukuman 5 tahun penjara.
